So it's time to look into new hearing aids. I'll keep some notes here.
- The new SIE/RITE style of BTE looks great for several reasons:
- Less feedback is a good thing!
- No occlusion
- Nonblocking design might allow for use of earbuds or earspoon type devices that need to penetrate the ear a little.
- Also may be less PAINFUL when using a headset! (headsets press agains the molds)
- Openfit means ability to resell the HA, or switch from one ear to the other.
- However, I have not found any RITE aids that work with my level of highfrequency loss.
- Phonak offers the MicroPower line which is a RITE Power Aid
- They also have the SmartLink which can couple to bluetooth devices.
- Meanwhile Starkey is saying they have completely eliminated feedback. WOOT!
- Starkey ELI for bluetooth... but would need an HA with DAI shoe
- The Oticon Epoq with Streamer brings integration with Bluetooth phones, something I sorely need.
- GN Respund Pulse is a rechargeable hearing aid. Siemens Centra Active is also rechargeable; RITE design
- Centra P, HP, SP all fit my hearing loss curve; allow for DAI shoe. Not RITE though?
- Note, I need 60-70 db gain
- Oticon Sumo DM seems to be for power
- Audium2 is not a hearing aid. But might solve some problems anyway (phones).
